I am a psychologist (registration no. 25806), with a master’s degree in clinical psychology. I’ve been trained in Spain (Universitat Rovira i Virgili), the United States (Marshall University) and the Netherlands (Universiteit Leiden). I have always been passionate about international challenges and cultural enrichment. I speak six languages, but I offer therapy in four (Spanish, Catalan, English and Arabic). I was born and raised in Spain (Reus), but I’m originally from Syria (Aleppo). That’s where my name comes from (the second last name is Turkish).
When I was little, I used to play a personality guessing game by observing people’s behavior and language, both verbal and non-verbal. The funny thing is that I was always right about their traits. That motivated me to study the human mind. My job gives me immense satisfaction, because the secret to happiness is helping others.
I try to adapt to my clients, that’s why I use different methods and approaches (integrative approach). Each case and each person is a world to explore. Choosing a type of therapy should be based on individual needs.
In addition, I focus on the root of the problem and the unconscious, not so much on the symptoms. When the past is still present, it is hard to move on. It is also important to find mind-heart balance to achieve emotional well-being. Mental health is health too.
I am a continuous learner. Science is advancing and it is important to stay up to date with new research. Learning never ends!
