Anxiety

Anxiety is a natural and normal emotional response to stress or perceived threats. It is a feeling of uneasiness, fear, or apprehension about future events or situations, especially those that are uncertain or potentially dangerous. While anxiety can be a useful response in some situations, as it can motivate people to prepare for challenges or avoid potential dangers, excessive or chronic anxiety can be problematic. There are different types of anxiety disorders, including:

  • Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)
  • Social anxiety
  • Panic disorder
  • Specific disorder
  • Agoraphobia
  • Obsesive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Separation anxiety disorder (SAD)
