Self-esteem

Self-esteem

Self-esteem refers to a person’s evaluation and perception of his/her worth. Self-esteem influences how we feel about ourselves and how we relate to others and the world around us.

People with low self-esteem tend to have a negative view of themselves. They may doubt their abilities and feel insecure in various areas of their lives. This may lead to avoidance of challenges, toxic relationships, and mental health problems such as depression and anxiety.

Self-esteem is formed throughout life and can be influenced by a variety of factors, such as early childhood experiences, relationships with parents and caregivers, social interactions, personal achievements, and comparisons with others.
